<title>Email address verification</title>
<description>
The season is upon us. Email is an important communication mechanism for last minute changes (along with visiting this web site -- or using the RSS feed.)

I will be sending out emails to all judges today. Please reply to the email by Wednesday night (January 20th.) If I don't receive a reply to the email, I will assume that the email address is not valid and will have to work to obtain a valid email address.

During the season, try to get in the habit of visiting this web-site a couple times a week. Thanks and contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

<title>Upcoming ISP migration</title>
<description>
On January 7th, the JAMAHome.org server will be changing Internet service providers. The server IP address should not change, so no DNS changes are involved.

The service may be unavailable for several hours during the day. Any email that is sent, will be queued upsteam and delivered when the move is completed.

Please contact Bob Berry if you have any questions or concerns.

<title>JAMA and MCCGA announce color guard judges training!!</title>
<description>
The Judges Association of Mid America (JAMA) has finalized the training session sponsored by the Mid Continent Color Guard Association (MCCGA) for color guard judges for the upcoming 2009 season. We are excited to announce that on December 13, at Truman High School in Independence, Missouri, Robert Solomon and Paul Lampkin will be training JAMA judges for another season serving the over 75 color guard units in MCCGA.

Mr. Lampkin will be focusing on General Effect and Ensemble Analysis while Mr. Solomon will delve into the downstairs Equipment and Movement captions. Both will work together covering changes for the 2009 season and general judging topics. Following the terrific clinic last year with Kristen O’Melia and Eric Kitchenman, these two judges will bring even more insight to the judging process and will help us to develop our skills to an even higher level. Exposure to these two clinicians and the skills our judges will learn and hone will serve to make MCCGA’s membership even stronger.

As always, we are looking for qualified judges, so if you know of anyone interested, please ask them to contact JAMA to get a spot reserved in this upcoming clinic. This will certainly be an exciting season of color guard and JAMA is looking forward to raising the bar for our judges while MCCGA’s members do the same with their performances!

JAMA is entering its 9th season providing judges to color guard and percussion circuits across the country as well as marching band contest in the Midwest. Questions relating to JAMA can be forwarded to Susan Johnson, President, at sjohnson@jamahome.org or you can visit JAMA’s website at www.jamahome.org.

The Mid Continent Color Guard Association (MCCGA) is entering its 16th season serving independent and scholastic guards and percussion units in the Midwest, including Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Iowa. Information regarding MCCGA can be found at its website, www.mccga.org.

<title>Server Migrated To New Hardware</title>
<description>
As you may have noticed, the www.jamahome.org server was down again today. Only one mail message was bounced (and I forwarded it to the people involved.) The www.jamahome.org server has been migrated to a new PC (it's actually running in a virtual machine, so I should be able to migrate it quickly in the case of future problems.)

I will migrate the site to a new server between Noon and 4:00PM on Sunday, November 2nd. During this time, mail will queue but be unavailable. No data will be lost.

<title>JAMA Announces Percussion Judge Training</title>
<description>
The Judges Association of Mid America (JAMA) has finalized the training session sponsored by the Mid Continent Color Guard Association (MCCGA) for percussion judges for the upcoming 2009 season. We are excited to announce that on December 13, at Truman High School in Independence, Missouri, Julie Davila and Ron Hardin will be training JAMA judges for another season serving the over 30 percussion units in MCCGA.

Mrs. Davila will be focusing on Performance Analysis and the concert classes while Mr. Hardin will delve into the visual caption. Both will work together covering effect and general judging topics. Following the terrific clinic last year with Dennis DeLucia, these two judges will bring even more insight to the judging process and will help us to develop our skills to an even higher level. Exposure to these two clinicians and the skills our judges will learn and hone will serve to make MCCGA’s membership even stronger.

<title>Website and Email changes!!</title>
<description>
Hi All. There are several changes taking place at the JAMA website. First, there's a member's only site now available. If you're a JAMA member, you should receive an email with the details for accessing this new site. If you haven't received this email by Thursday, January 24th, please contact Bob Berry at berry@jamahome.org.

Another change is that we have too many members!! We had several name collisions, so I had to change everyone's email address. Your JAMA emails address now includes your first initial. So John Doe who used to be just, doe@jamahome.org, is now jdoe@jamahome.org. If you use the web portal, your password has not changed. Also, if you were on the board previously, your last name will suffice for now (since we had published those addresses before.) At some point, I would like to eliminate those "last name only" addresses as well to cut down on spam.

<title>Website down for maintenance this weekend!!</title>
<description>
Hi All. The server that hosts the JAMA website has had a hard disk fail. This coming weekend, I will migrate the site to another server. The Site will be down Saturday, January 26th from Noon to 4:00PM. (Most of you should be working, so the impact should be minimal.) Until then, I'm making frequent backups, but if the site should disappear, it is because of a second hard drive failure.

While I'm migrating the site, I will be updating the operating system as well, so the site may have a slightly different look (especially the web email portal.)

<title>JAMA announces MCCGA judges training session!</title>
<description>
JAMA has finalized the training session for percussion and color guard judges for the upcoming season and is excited to announce that on December 15 and 16, at Truman High School in Independence, Missouri, the following WGI judges will be training our JAMA judges:
Dennis DeLucia (WGI Percussion judge and steering committee member),
Kristin O'Melia (WGI Equipment judge and steering committee member), and
Eric Kitchenman (WGI EA judge).
We are thrilled to have our first combined session with both percussion and guard judges, but it is even more thrilling knowing the quality of training our judges will receive this year. Each of these clinicians brings tremendous experience and exposure to our local judges which in turn will help to make MCCGA's membership stronger.

As always, we are looking for qualified judges (guard and percussion), so if you know of anyone, please ask them to contact me to get a spot reserved in this upcoming clinic. This will certainly be an exciting season of color guard and percussion and JAMA is looking forward to raising the bar for our judges while MCCGA's members do the same with their performances!

Best of luck to you this winter and please travel safely,

Chris Putnam
